This artisan class of bonsai requires meticulous attention to detail. Pruning and wiring must be done regularly and by an experienced hand.
Jay conducts pruning and wiring work within a reasonable travel distance. He will also supervise work with owners to help teach them the skills to be able to do this on their own over time. His hourly fee for this type of service is $50, and travel time will be charged for one way of the leg. For out-of-area clients, the fee is the actual cost of airfare, lodging, and $500 per day for up to 8 hours. Personal bonsai may also be dropped at his workshop in San Anselmo for onsite services.
